Lake District 101 For Dummies

1. Pray for good weather.

2. Stay at the delightfully cute B&B "The Hideaway" (where the dinners and service is seriously fantastic). http://www.thehideawayatwindermere.co.uk/

Make sure to check out the view while savouring your food.

4. Have a wander down to the lake in Windermere.

5. Head back into town for some retail shopping.

Make sure you pay a visit to what must be the prettiest Barclays (bank) in the UK, and have a good look at all the pretty manicured houses lining the streets.

6. As the sun starts to set, head up to Orrest Head (in Windermere) for a fantastic view of Lake District.

7. Head back to grimy London at the end of the weekend and ponder why you're living there for the whole of the 5 hour car journey....
